The Civil Engineering (CE) program at Gargi Memorial Institute of Technology (GMIT) offers a comprehensive curriculum designed to prepare students for successful careers in the field of civil engineering. Welcome to the Department of Civil Engineering at Gargi Memorial Institute of Technology. Since 2011, our department has remained steadfast in its vision and mission, striving to create an industrial-friendly environment and preparing students for successful careers in the civil engineering field.
Our main objective is to build a strong foundation for our students, guiding them towards either entering the core industrial sector or pursuing higher studies relevant to their academic career. From our first batch of graduates in 2015 to our ongoing batch graduating in 2023, we have consistently supported our students in achieving their career goals.
Mentoring individual students and identifying their best potential is a major focus of the Civil Engineering Department. We provide personalized guidance to each student, conducting weekly reviews and SWOT analysis to help them chart a path towards a bright future.
Our efforts have resulted in over 90% of our students securing placements, thanks to the rigorous training and hands-on experience they receive. The department provides industrial hands-on core training and software training in areas such as structural engineering, geotechnical engineering, and transportation engineering. This training has proven invaluable during interviews conducted by the institutional placement cell.
In addition to training, the department places great emphasis on final year projects. These projects, based on industrial topics, help students apply their knowledge and skills in real-world scenarios, preparing them for roles in core departments within the industry.
Industrial hands-on Core Training as well as Software training in multiple fields like Structure, Geotechnical, Transportation engineering etc., helped the students a lot while they faced a lot of interviews provided in the institutional placement cell. Making the students ready for the final whistle, the department is always concerned about the Final Year projects in various industrial topics, which become more effective while the students join any kind of core departmental jobs in industry.
